ive been looking around and cant find anyone with a dwarf lion and a green spotted puffer in the same tank. i was wondering if this would work out well. in my tank also is a false perc and a yellow tail damsel. reef tank 33g. i really want a puffer and if need be id drop the clown and the damsel for him.

I have seen people with full size lions and porqupines in the same tank but never their mini cousins.

My friend had that combo in his 120G and without serious conflict to my knowledge.

ok good so they are compatable now just the issue of if i have enough tank volume. i have a 33 g main and 20g sump but sump will only be 2/3 full so prolly around 50g total. gsp are said to need 30 g to themselves so im not sure if it is enough.

Ya neither is a smart idea together in a tank that size

I've had porcupine puffer & lionfish together but not a good idea to keep a small fish with a lionfish. Most of the time, eventually, the lionfish will eat tankmates small enough to fit in their cavernous mouths.

puffer isnt really a small fish though, it grows to about the same size as the lion. i figured out ill have 44 gallons of water running. what if i got rid of the clown and the damsel? so jsut the gsp and the dwarf lion in there?

You have 33 gal of water availible for the fish to swim in, not over 40... the fish aren't swimming in your sump :P

33 is not a lot of room for them to be put in together

i know i only have 33 but i thought that the room being to small was only because of bio load... is it also to small for swimming? that sucks i gotta find a new fish then.. any suggestions?

If you really want a puffer I would recommend going to thepufferforum.com lots of great information. Also a great place to ask questions of people with a lot of experience with puffers.

you can get a valentini puffer! cute and dont need too too much space. As for a lion, a dwarf should be fine in a 33g as long as it is not the tall tank. They can be kept together too... I had them in a 33 a while back.
