Ordered my skimmer along with Ron99. I too let it run with viniger and then ran it in a bucket of salt water for about 16 hours and have just placed it in my sump. I too am suprised with the build quality of it! everything is sturdy and doesnt feel cheap at all! Its very quiet and has nice thick and frothy bubble what more can you ask for! If you have any Q's feel free to ask:biggrin:

Cheers
Ray
P.S. Please do not make fun of my sump! Im working on getting somthing made out of glass at least lol:mrgreen:

That's the one I'm leaning towards. How much did you pay?

Ryan

Why did you run it in vinegar and then in a pail of saltwater instead of putting it straight into the sump?

Not trying to hijack Ray's thread but if you want to know prices we got them from reefshops dot com so you can go there and also get a shipping estimate once you add it to your shopping cart.

The skimmer has 9.5 by 9 inch base and is 21.5" tall from feet to collection cup lid. As Ron said check out he website and you can get a better idea.

Does anyone know the performance difference between any two different skimmers? I think not.

I seen Leah's Deltec HOB skimmer and was totally NOT impressed, especially for the price. No surprise a ER outperforms them

Dinner was a different night LOL And don't tell me you were not ticked a little when we couldn't mount it on your tank because they made it for trimless, or really skinny trimed tanks.

And when I get my Bubble magnus, I'll let you dis it all you like :p

Any idea what the required water level is for this skimmer?? I don't have that high of a sump and I know that the Bubble Magus NAC6 requires 11" of water as I have one of those and it works fantastic. If this skimmer doesn't require over 7" I am game!!

The recommended level is 8.5"to 9.5"

Hi burrow,

I was wondering how you got those fine bubbles in the picture. I have the Nac 7 running in 12 inches of water. The bubbles that come out of the pump somewhat large, nothing like your picture.

Thanks for any advice!

I would raise the skimmer up a few inches and check your air line to make sure its not clogged. You should maybe check the mesh wheel also to make sure there is no blockage. Mine was plug and play and had no issues.

Let me know if any of that helps

Cheers
Ray
