One of the most interesting things for me with corals is seeing them/their zooxanthellae glow/fluoresce under actinics or moonlights. It adds a new aspect to sw that is I never saw in fw. I am just starting to populate my tank with corals now and just have green candycanes that show this characteristic. Can anyone recommend other corals that also fluoresce well?

High quality open brains & scolymias also fluoresce very well.

Bright green wall hammer/anchors do too.

Most brightly coloured LPS fluoresce under actinic/moonlights/blue/20000k lights.

Don't forget the mushrooms. Some of them fluoresce nicely.

:biggrin:Thank you for all the leads. Lots of options and that is what is great about sw.

Kevotron, what type of LEDs do you have? I have a couple powerbrite leds and the colors really pop under them. They are too expensive to light my whole tank with them though, I'm looking for a cheaper alternative.

I gotta say I love staring into my tank at night. Most of my acros glow at night, they look radioactive!

I went to Walmart's auto section and saw they had these stick on "underglow" led lights and they come in a series of 8 for like $20 so i just rewired it to a power adapter and vola !
