View Full Version : Lf 1000+ GPH pump
Hey guys I am currently looking for a pump I can use for return on a 90gal tank with 75 gal sump... Just testing the waters here, seeing what anybody might have before I shell out for a new one...
The quieter the better, obviously.
I have a Poseidon PS3 on my 90 w/ 30 sump. It's one of the quiestest pumps you can buy. It does have drawbacks though (like any other), it is pricey and it adds heat to the system. The PS4 may be a good choice for you since you have a bigger sump.

I run Quiet One 4000 on both my 90 gallons. I like them nice and quite.
Yeah... I'm trying to either find a good used one, or figure out what the best bang for my buck is. Unfortunately I have a beckett-style skimmer, so I think this whole idea of a quiet system may go out the window. Lol.
Anybody have anything in edmonton or alberta that they are looking to get rid of?

LF 1000 GPM pump ?
what are you planning to do with a 60,000 GPH pump?
Errrr... Did I say GPM? I ummmm meant GPH. Wow. I do not want to power the space shuttle here.
Ha ha haa.
This is what happens when your office sits around all afternoon in the afterglow of a giant turkey dinner!

Seriously though. 90gal tank. So I am thinking 900gph and up. Ha.

+1 for Poseidon
I have 2 PS4's running on my 75g w/ 30g sump and they pump like a champ, and are silent. As for the heat issues they add...I haven't noticed it on my tank to be honest.
Anyone out there had some good christmas upgrades and need to sell a 1000+ gph pump? Still looking and haven't settled on buying a cheap one from Big Al's yet... Seriously though, nothing out there?
A nice quiet external would be so sweet...

I havent listed it yet because I'm not at home ATM but I will have an Iwaki 55RT for sale in a couple of days. I think I'm going to ask $220 (shipping included) but I havent decided yet. Right now its running my Bullet 3 skimmer but I'm swapping it out for an Iwaki 70RT that I just picked up used.
Heres what it is encase you're curious.
