Nearly 20' long! Gorgeous Tank. I'm surprised I have never come across this before on the net.

Gorgeous! But, oh my god, that isn't a hobby... that'd be a full time job/obsession...

I want one...

That was a Reef Central tank of the month a while back. Its pretty cool to see everything in motion though.

I'm thinking I could do that at my place - step one, fill basement with salt water:lol:

I have seen this one before. Call it the GrandDaddy of them all!

Imagine the costs to maintain

You mean not everyone has gon back to view every last totm? I've done this multiple times! This tank and Atlantis aquariums are too massive and beautiful to comprehend!

I NEED to revisit, they're just all so very awesome that I have trouble remembering which one is which after a while!!

If I recall correctly, this is the one where the guy replaces his sand bed every 6 months so that it's all nice and white ALL the time? (Oh dear. A little patch of cyano over hier! RrrrRRRrrRRReplace ze zand at vunce!! {insert Dutch accent here - it's OK - I'm Dutch - I can make fun of my own accent can't I !!?})

Still - what a breathtaking tank. I'm torn. If I could afford the upkeep of a tank like that, odds are pretty good I could afford just to live near a beach somewhere near a REAL reef, and that would be a hard choice to make!!!

... Hmmm, actually, it wouldn't. Never mind. Nevertheless, what a spectacular tank. :)

The two craziest things about this tank that always struck me are:

1. "After two structural piles were hammered 19 meters into the ground to help support the weight of the 8000 kg tank". WTF??? 19 meters???? I thought I overbuilt my stand.

2. The shop that the baby is in sell fireplaces. WTF??? Fireplaces???? If I walked into this shop thinking to buy a fireplace, I'd walk out wanting a reef tank instead.

yeah thats true, the owner of the reef works there and wanted to be with his tank all the time.

If I remember correctly, the tank is stocked in zones....5' of Aussie corals, 5' of indo pacific etc....how could you get any work done with a tank like that to oggle??
