Here's a few quick pics I snapped of the reef the other day. Tank is 90 gallons with 8-bulb 48" HO T5 fixture. Sumpless, and has been setup for
about 3 years. ;)

I'm absolutely in AWE of the colors and neat little areas there are to look at in your tank! If my wife saw this she'd forbid me to have any SPS.

Any chance you can shoot some video? I imagine there must be a lot of movement in there.

Beautiful tank Diana
What is the fish in the left hand corner above the hammer coral in the first picture?

Thanks for the comments everyone! this tank has tons of movement and colors. i have finally run out of space too, i can't really add anything without it getting stung! I will try and get a video, our little digi cam shoots pretty pathetic video.

Leah, the fish is a spotted Rabbitfish.

I recently switched to Reefer's Best salt and the growth explosion of the corals has been insane, especially the hammers and frogspawn. they've gone crazy! i highly recommend it to everyone.

Great looking tank :thumb:. Is it skimmerless too?

Looks great Diana! (The tank too. :p)

Quick question for ya - how long have you had the bipinnate plume? I'm curious because it has the distinctive "bipinnate" shape. I have what I thought was one, but after a year or so it has completely lost the feathering look to it, and become nearly indistinguishable from my purple plume's growth habit. I was wondering if I've mis-ID'd it or if growth is influenced by flow patterns and the flow patterns in tank don't match the patterns in the ocean. (I know there is something to the latter, since I also have a Gorgonia ventilana that is becoming rather 3-dimensional over time as well.)

Very nice Diana! Who needs SPS to have a beautiful tank eh?

Yah pffft what's SPS? Actually there is one in the tank (an old monti cap i've had going for 5 years) but its ugly brown so i always break it and keep it in the back. I'm not sure if Pavona corals are considered SPS? But there's one in there too. :)

Yes there is a skimmer on the tank, a Deltec 300. Although it just kicked the bucket, i guess it needs a new impeller (cha-ching). I also have a little aquaclear on there for media storage, and I run a phos-ban reactor when needed. 2 Tunze 6025's for additional flow.

Delphinus, I'm not too sure about the 'bipinnate plume'. I've had both my gorgs only for a few months now, and while i've gotten a few inches of growth off the other one, I haven't noticed much from this one. The purple plume i've had some difficulty finding a spot where it isnt going to get stung by anything since its so delicate. And it doesn't seem to stand up to the flow very well (probebly cus its in the sand). I would be inclined to attribute differing growth patterns to flow rate and direction rather than species variation. Although you can figure it will lead there eventually! I will let you know if I notice any growth changes down the road. :)

totm would be nice  my old 33 was totm one year, but i think this 90 deserves it more. ;)

Thanks again all!

Interesting - my gorgs seem to love flow. But one thing I've found with them - unlike other corals where you can place them and (more or less) leave them be, gorgs are top-heavy in a sense so really HAVE to be glued down adequately (at the very least, glued to a heavy base - a typical "reef plug" isn't going to cut it unless the plug itself gets glued down, or pinned down by heavier rubble).

Can you do some close ups of your gorgs at some point? (please and thank you)

hehe yah I'll try and get some macros of them.... and I really should epoxy the purple one onto a rock and then stick it in the sand, i am sure that would solve it.
