This months subject: All Things RED.
Requested, but not required, members should post info about their picture. This could include a picture title and camera specs.
Entries will be accepted until Nov 23rd, 2009.
Entries to be posted in this thread, if you have troubles posting please email your photo to candjszoo@gmail.com and I will post it for you
For the winner you will have a snazzy POTM badge placed under your user name
Voting to take place Nov 24th through Nov 30th.
Contest Rules are as follows:
1) You must follow the guidelines given for each contest
2) ALL members including vendors can enter, photos must be from a personal display tank, not store stock.
3) The photo must be taken by you, and as long as it fits the subject you're in!
4) Each can post as many pictures as they want, but only ONE can be entered. Please specify which one when posting multiple pictures it will be chosen for you.
5) Have Fun!

I don't have anything really outstanding to submit that is red...
I guess I will just have to watch everyone else.

I think Red is a tough one. There is a lot of Red fish and Corals but I still think it's hard. Everyone thinks the blues and purples are the greatest

LMAO Thats funny Lance. My daughter keeps teasing me that one day she is going to eat everything in my tank. So i tease her back by saying i am going to use her tooth brush to clean out my skimmer.

it is indeed my picture. i took it while at work. i work at elite, and wherever you saw it i posted for colby and also gave a copy to colby. it is being submitted.

Can I use auto focus then? Or do I have to lock the focus and move my tripod mm's at a time to focus?

Red, Pink & Green Chalice (This coral is totally awesome, i got it for $10 because no one wanted to buy it from the LFS, he had it in his system so long it was starting to recede, i bought it to see if i could bring it back, its come a long way!)

I don't wish to start anything, so I won't... It isn't harboured hatred... It is all justified and others do feel the same. NICE PHOTO'S EVERYONE!, I already posted who I voted for.

The lens is a Nikkor 18-200mm (with a Nikon D90 body).
I'm just now starting to get better with it; lots to learn from a regular point and click that i'm used to.

The photos many of put up are gorgious! Does one have to have digital SLR with a special lense to get these shots? Could one use a Nikkon coolpix on manual settings? If so what settings? OR could I use a Canon Rebel SLR and if so what lense and settings? Do you use a tripod? Do you edit in photoshop?
Also how do you get you tank glass and water so clear that it seems it is not there at all?
These photos make great art:)
So many questions..hope there are some answers for those wanting to start taking photos.

Thanks, there's a lot of great pic.'s this month. Some are more red then others though, and I'm glad the red really came out in my miniatus pic. and I'm glad after 80 pic.'s of him I finally got one of him looking at me and not blurry.
