I currently have only one fish in my 50 gallon reef tank. It is a Tomato Clown. I am wondering if I could add another one , or would battles ensue. I know it would not be a problem with Ocellaris Clowns, but I don't know about Tomatoes.

You can add a second one. I'd add a smaller one, and there will be some initial fighting that goes on, but they will eventually pair up. Your existing tomato is certainly female by now, having been alone for so long. If you add a smaller one, she will remain female and they will probably pair up quite quickly. Good luck.

I love my tomato clown. 4 inches and all attitude.

Add the second (smaller) one in one of those breeding trap boxes, the ones with the slits. After a day or two of getting used to the physical presence of the second fish (without being able to attack it directly), your female should calm down, and they should be able to co-exist.
