Obviously as much as I enjoyed running Oceanic Corals my free time was coming to an end, my change in course took place for an extra special reason as pictured below.......

Only a few hours old.... Her name is Abbey.

I totally understand Ian. My life changed with the birth of my baby girl, Felicia, as well. Priorities are supposed to change, though, when we become parents.

She's definitely a "Keeper"

LOL, yes she is a keeper.... Priorities do change but my hobby continues, I will hopefully one day be able to introduce her to my salty addiction.

You know, I am circulating some ideas now that AA is out of the way in Abbotsford...... lol

It is amazing how she has already fit right in..... Even my two dogs are already in love and very protective of her.

As a father of 2 myself (girl and boy), I can understand... Life is short, and when you are blessed, make the most of it.

Congrats...you'll find that it's amazing how one day they are just an infant and then the next day they're repeating your swear words after you got stung by a bristle worm and forgot they were in the room with you. lol.

Fatherhood is awesome...have fun!

Congrats Ian!! I was also wondering why the sudden sale of the business. I hope the new owner(s?) can continue the business in style. :D

Yeah,

Priorities change I guess, I loved the business but it did take up a lot of my time, profits were also very modest to say the least with the challenges of not having a brick and mortar location. I also got a little sick of the self proclaimed "Coral Police" numb-nuts.

I am already loving fatherhood and I am sure there are many milestones to come! The new owners of Oceanic Corals will still provide great service and WILL still provide the rare hard to acquire pieces that everyone loves.

On a side note:

I am not out of the game just yet....... I have a few plans floating around and may bring them to fruition as soon as I am settle into this new adventure with my new daughter.

Someone is going to have to make up for the loss of a vendor in the valley!

Actually, the wife had some major difficulties in regards to here pregnancy and this only added to the stress. She developed a resting heart rate of 160+ sometime around the 5 month mark, her echo-cardiogram showed a enlargement of the left ventricle. The heart condition became fairly serious and concerning.

She had to have a planned cesarean as the doctors feared she would go into heart failure from natural delivery. Her heart rate returned to normal within days of the cesarean and her most recent appointment with the cardiologist was reassuring that she should go back to normal.

Some people are cut out for pregnancy and other not I suppose....
