What do you use for large matter filtration? (floaties, detrius, stirred up crud) This has been a sticking point for me. I've tried filter sock, but the flow is too great and it overflows instantly. The height of the main tanks and the sump don't allow me to "trickle" drain onto foam pads. I've been considering a Ehiem or Fluval canister to clean out this stuff, but I'm leary about creating a Nitrate factory. - Thanks!

How fine our you socks?

I run 100µ and used to run 2000gph through a single bag no problems.

I tried the 200 micron from Big Al's. It does a great job when i'm using a sphon to clean out the sump bottom etc, but high flow just pours over.

I use a magnum hang on tank micron filter.
