Bump, could still use some extra hand if available (around 11:30-12:00 tomorrow, PM for details) after a marathon 21 hour day yesterday (for those comming to help tomorrow we should be less than an hour to load:lol:) the fish and most of the equipment have been safetly moved and housed temporarily, Huge thanks go out to Tom, Curt, Ivor, Ian's wife, Harry and Dave Sr. for the helping hands and the use of equipment and truck. It couldn't have gone any smoother and everyone survived the ordeal. Now to make plans for tomorrow and do it all over again!

I'm lousy at lifting heavy things but if you need a hand with anything else when you get it here, I can help

Mrfish55
09-10-2009, 02:48 PM
Thanks, once here should be no problem, its getting it out of the existing location that will be the big one, that being said you are welcome to stop by for a visit and a beverage anytime, you don't have to lift anything but I am open to suggestions on the layout of the set-up, going to try and keep this one much cleaner and a whole lot simpler than the small one.

This is not an upgrade it's an addition! The new tank will be FOWLR as it came stocked with lots of not so reef friendly but very beautifull fish. This is for sure the last tank, 3 is enough especially when the combined volume will now be slightly over 1400 gallons. Kinda funny how just last week I sold my 180 having no intention of starting another tank :silly: Are you thinking upgrade?

I DO want to upgrade...I had wanted the 320g in Calgary but was unable to get it together to be able to purchase it...and I regret it! But yep, I am wanting an upgrade. Trying for a long tank so my tangs are happier. I have a Tang addiction! LOL

Interesting, will have to see if any of the existing fish would go after the nem :hungry: And exactly when did those Clarkii become easy going?

Everybody needs a tank like this, and it just may be available shortly after the next Hydro bill arrives:lol:

Sure try and pawn em off on me, I could banish them to the sump, don't know how much of a punishment that would be though, after all the sump is 250gal and 8'long

Hey Marie, now that Dave's getting a FOWLR that large we have somewhere we can send our PITA fish: You know the ones that suddenly take a liking to corals or clams, or beat the hell out of the other inhabitants.

I'm trying but he doesn't seem to be going for it.

I think the anemone would be perfect in there and with 2 clarkiis protecting it, it couldn't be safer

Boy all kinds of action in a help thread I can only imagine the abuse, I mean great ideas, that will come flowing once the build thread starts! Lucky the beer fridge in the man-cave is full, this could get exciting:biggrin:

Oh I do have a very large, long spined urchin you could have... he has taken a liking to corals.

At first I was so mad I put him in an empty bucket out on the deck but then after 10min I felt sorry for him and put him in my sump

I've seen that one, I have one in the reef right now that is getting big but he hides in a corner I can't get at!

You can have my emerald crab that turns up his nose, (do crabs have noses?), at bubble algae and chows down on coral polyps.

How bou't I get the tank going first, then we can find out what undesireables we have to feed the fish that are going in there. Anyhow I got's to get up at 4am to go get this tank, oh the things we do for our little wet friends:silly:

Just got home, all went extreeeemly well, big thanks to Harry, Bob, Tristan and Don, who would have thunk four guys could remove a 800lb tank from a basement in only 20 min. Thanks to John for the smokin deal. Will get some pics tomorrow and get crackin on the necessary reno's to get it up and running.

Sitting in the carport right now, I am thinking it will go on the wall opposite the reef, removing the 8' window that is there and then closing in and creating a room under the deck for it.

Sorry I wasn't able to come help. I had baby duty while my wife prepped for her weekend retreat in Chiliwack.

Thats OK, it came out easier and much quicker than I thought, any more people probably would have slowed things down as there really wasn't much room to work.
