So I called the local UFA and here is the details.
100g Rubbermaid trough is $99.95
150g Rubbermaid trough is $169.95

Which one should I go with for the tank room?

I have a 90g tank but I want the rubbermaid because it's easy to punch some holes in for my bulkheads.

Thanks

Didn't even realize that they made a 300g. now you got me thinking.
I can imagine the price on the 300 would be enormus! A little too big for me I think.

I think you should get the 100g.

Brobak on RC has a 600 gallon sump, in case you're going for the world record.

Hello,

While larger is always better idealistically, it all comes down to:
1) what you want to do, and
2) how much you are willing to spend.

The larger a sump you have, the more special dedicated areas you can have. For example, larger built-in refugium, room for nursing area, dedicated area for special filtration, etc.

I think the easy way, at least for me, is to find out what type of design(s) you want within the sump, then finalize a size for each of these design. Then that pretty much tells you what size of sump you need. Then you'd know the dimension, volume, etc.

However, I think I side with Brad on the 100g choice as that should be more than plenty.

This is for your 230gal Great Barrier, right? As far as I have noticed, you have plans for various other attached stuff like prop tank, refugium and so on. Or is the fuge going in a lighted sump
If not, I ditto the Titus & Brad on the 100.

Thanks guys.
Yes this is for the great barrier reef Kari

The sump will only be for having a place to run my skimmer, reactor and other doo dad's from. the sump will not be lit.

I am going to have a 75g tank(my current sump) has a separate lit refugium and a prop tank hooked up the the system as well.
