is it worth the 45 dollars?was looking at one toady and it said to calibrate dip it in the two different buffered solutions then set it based on temp.simple enough.but the solution bottles are tiny and i wonder if i just pour it into another container big enough?or use the cover.does light affect the reading?the cover is black.thanks

Those stupid pH pens are garbage IMO. The tips die on them too early. Many people only have them last a year or two, then the tip goes and it's only $10 cheaper than buying the whole pH pen. Go figure. The next pH device I will buy (if I ever care about pH, which I doubt, but that's a different story...read the link in my signature about pH) would be a Pinpoint pH monitor. The tips are cheaper to replace, and seem to be tougher. The only thing I use a pH device of any sort is to match the pH when doing FW dips on fish, and since I have given up on pH devices I just treat in QT with hyposalinity. LOL
