What is this leather Coral. It came with one of my 90's. It looks like a certain part of a males anatomy. Sorry about attachment I have not learned to insert pics yet.

I did accouple of test ones. I addmit it is easy to frag. Only hard part to get them attach to frag disc. I tried glueing, tying and rubber band. I found glue 1 1/4" X 1" pvc to the frag disc and just let it sit works. Any other suggestions.

needle and fishing line to a rock I found worked great

I have tried that. I think why it did not take because of the tank current. I will try it again by putting the frags int the sump. I have a t5 for the fuge. What size of live rock to us?

Elastic bands work well if in low flow so there is no movement(and not too tight). Just did one of my own this way. Just make sure fresh cut is clean and in good contact with rock surface. Rock size what ever you want depending on frag size.
Good luck!

Hi guys, the actual name for this one is Sarcophyton, and the best way to frag this is to make a box out of egg crate, and place rubble in the bottom. after that you fashion a lid from the same material that you made the box with, in your case I would completely lop off the open top part of the coral, (don't worry, if your conditions are right, it will grow back in a month or so:wink:), then taking the top part od the coral, you can lay it out on a cutting board and slice it into sections using a razor blade. Take these pieces and spread them out evenly in your frag box that you've made, and close the lid. In about a week or so, they'll start to attache, and within a month, they will be growing attached to the rubble that you put into the container. Now they are perfect frags to bring to your local store or to sell to other reefkeepers!! Happy fragging:wink:

I Know it sound dramatic, but, it really is the best way. I've done it three times with mine, and every time, it comes b back within a month. I've made tonnes of frags this way...

Millepora Maniac thank you for the info and advise. I am willing to give it a try. The head would produce at least 12 1" frags.
