What does everyone think this is.......possibly a Rhizo? I bought it as a hitchhiker on a frag from a LFS. It was the size of pencil eraser but is quickly growing. In a month and a half it's grown to the size of a quater.

It's not a rhizo, I've seen them before I'm not sure exactly what they are but they look like a type of plate coral.

Thanks guys. Yes, I think you're right, baby plate corals. Very cool free hitchhiker. I actually have 2 of them

Neat find!
I think so too  Annnnnd to make it even neater, there's a good chance I have a propagation site which means as the plate grows and eventually falls off and on to the sandbed where a mature plate normally resides a new baby could grow in its place where it was :clap2:

It's been nearly a year since posting this but today I picked up the fungia to move it and it finally released from its propagation site. I had 2 babies but they ended up merging together.
Here it is(when I bought it, the diameter was the size of an eraser on a pencil):

I'm hoping the propagation site will now regenerate another baby.
