Welcome to Canreef, always good to get new people. You will need to host your pics somewhere that you can link to as Canreef doesn't take uploads. Your Internet account should have come with webspace.

Welcome to Canreef. I don't think Des is the world's smartest fish dude, but I certainly appreciate the assistance he's given me over the last six months.  Haven't talked to him in a while now, wouldn't mind knowing where he's at. He had a fantastic BTA that I wanted a status report on.

Welcome, good to see another person from our neck of the woods in the forums. Strange how all the out of town people are responding first. Let's hope the new guy introduction turns into a good excuse for another Edmonton get together.

also in my reef tank i got mostily soft corals but i would like some hard but they dont seem to like my tank very much any clue why.

A few questions come to mind when corals don't do well in a tank that sounds like it SHOULD produce great sps corals:

ammonia levels
nitrite levels
nitrate levels
calcium levels
pH before lights on
pH before lights off
specific gravity
temperature range

When was the last time you changed MH bulbs?

How often do you do water changes?

How big are your water changes?

Are you using tap, RO, RO/DI water?

How often do you clean filters/powerheads?

Do you dose your tank with kalk?

Do you have enough water flow for hard corals?

Mmmm.... That's all I can think of for now.

Oh, and welcome to the Big E's reefing club
