Hey guys,

I picked up this coral yesterday, can someone tell me what it is? Also the tips have all the color now but will the rest of it color up or is it a type of coral that only the tips get the color?

The pics don't show it all that well, but the tips and base have a really nice light purple color.

Thanks!

I am no SPS expert or even advanced keep but to me that looks like a Tabling Acro. We have a piece like that except its Yellow.

Maybe a hyacinthus?

Could be Acropora solitaryensis. I think mostly the tips are coloured

Thanks for the replies, I've been looking through pics online but haven't seen anything quite like it. I'm leaning towards tabletop by the 'look' of it rather than the overall shape. I'll have to see how it starts to grow but I'll mount it with tabling acro in mind.

I have a friend who has one that looks just like that and it tables with just its tips coloured. Can't say for certain that it is the same, and he had no idea what it was called but we compared it to your picture and they look identical, except his was larger. For what that's worth.
