Between my snails, tang, water changes and to-be-expected cycling, my algae has been reduced to a few patches of a weird kelp-like macro algae in my main tank. Previously I had plenty of cyano, hair algae, all over the sand, rocks and back glass. I am concerned that my ~28 snails (sold to me as turbos, but I really don't think they are) are going to starve without food to eat. My tank is a 150 gal, 48x24x30. Is this a concern? Should I pull half out or something?

I have probably 50+ snails and the always find something to eat. You could supplement with algae tablets or some other green.

I have two Turbo Snails. They took care of nuisance algae on the glass. Now every once in a while I throw in some waffers. The disc style for freshwater fish. They love them. My coral banded shrimp loves them too. However I'm not sure they need it too survive, like Reef Raf said.
