First of all i would like to thank Kevin at Red Coral for his help and quick response to my problem. About 2 weeks ago my pump on my closed loop packed it in, I phoned around to try to find a replacement pump. Keeping in mind it was also time i upgraded to a stronger pump. I talked to Kevin at RC and asked him to order me in a pump, Kevin agreed, but he also offered to lend me a pump(off the shelf, brand new) until my new pump arrived. Now i don't know how many owners would do this, but it is always nice to know there are some out there. Needless to say, it arrived today and i plan on piping it in on the weekend. Thanks Kevin, i said it before and i will say it again, never disappointed, and always a pleasure spending money at your store. The only problem is your 3 1/2 hours away. I would also like to thank Doug and the rest of the staff. Thanks again,
Bob

WOW, that was very nice of him. I have to say I have heard wonderful things about RC as well and I sold him my skimmer and that was very smooth transaction. Yep I have to agree the only problem is, is that he's so far away.

If Red Coral is 3.5 hours from St Albert you're driving too slow.

Hey Bob I was just going to contact you to see if you got it yet. Incredible pump as they are powerful and dead silent. Thanks for the kind words it is rewarding to have someone recognize customer service. It is also great to have a staff that cares.
Too bad it is 3 hrs plus.
But it does give you a chance to come to Cow Town more often.
Thanks again for your business and encouragement all.

Well here it is, piped in to my 8 way and running. All i can say is WOW, this pump is dead quiet and packs one hell of a punch, had to throttle down a bit. I still have to tie in my UV and heater module into the 3/4" but that will be done soon. I would recommend that anyone looking for a pump to keep one of these in mind. I would like to thank Kevin at RC and Paul at OM for their help and ideas on this system. I am now going to start removing my softies and going sps.

Nice to know about the pump. That would likely be my next CL pump.

If you don't mind me asking, how much was the pump? That would be a sweet pump when my Dart dies as I'll be the third owner of my Dart. Thanks.

Oh yeah baby! Picking up my new SUPER DART GOLD tomorrow from Marine Aquaria. I can't imagine this pump being any quieter than the dart I'm running right now but if it is? AWESOME! Pump is around $500 which is pretty cheap for a good quality external return pump.

You will be happy. Now that it is all piped and running for a couple of days i could not be happier with it. Had to throttle it back a little, looked like a sand storm in there, lots of flow.

Mine has been up and running for a couple days now and no surprise... IT'S AWESOME! I don't think its any quieter than the regular dart but who cares. They're so quiet to begin with it doesn't matter.

interesting.

notice the increased flow?

Definately an increase in flow. I had to throttle everything back quite a bit more than before. Ah... Throttling... The beauty of a Dart. Throttling=no damage

Did you just throttle it with a ball valve on the return?

They actually encourage you the throttle the discharge a little.
