Went to the grand opening, really nice place.. HOWEVER.. they have a salt water set up that is HORRIBLE.. I wish I could have found someone there to talk to.. Horrible algea build up on the rocks.. all the snails were dead and moldy in the tank... a few fish swam around... not exactally something I would want to show on an opening weekend.. that makes me a little sad...

Wonder if it was a "rescue"?

lol! I hope not! usually there are signs on it saying "donated by" or something but there was nothing... nice big tank wood stand and canopy.

I was there too. It would be such a nice tank if they would find someone to properly take care of it.

lol I use tap water and my tank sure doesn't look like that... I really hope they take care of it.. there are about 6 fish in there that are going to end up dead!

lol! I was thinking that!!! but who knows if they would let us? we could sure make it sweet! i should have taken a picture
For sure they would love your help, don't expect them to be able to buy supplies though as their budgets are razor thin. I volunteered as a dog walker way back for BCSPCA and had a great time. Good people.

well then honestly maybe that's one project they should not have started to take on and they should surrender the livestock... it's a big tank... if they cannot maintain it there is no point in having it.

Hey, fellas, get together and make it happen.
You will feel really good about it and your wives/girlfriends will think you are real heros

i cannot afford supplies to maintain it.. but maybe we could see if there is a LFS that may sponsor us??? I am horrible with e-mails.. but can someone help me draw up a letter to the humane society asking permission??? I can put in help on weekends.. I work everyday until 4:30 so if they are open after that... seems like a good idea!
Try something like this:
"
To whom it may concern,
We/I enjoyed the opening of the new location at …. A couple of experienced marine tank enthusiasts noticed that the large saltwater fish tank was in desperate need of maintenance and care. We/I can volunteer our time to make this tank healthy and beautiful if you’re interested, We/I can be reached at Someone@yahoo.com
Thank you,
"

Sounds like a good idea, I would probably (depending on date) be able to help out if there was a group of us going into the project.

Get some information on this, if they allow you guys to do it. I'll be happy to donate some supplies to make it better.

i will do what i can as well
They spent millions on their new building but can't be bothered to maintain a tank. Maybe they should just give up the tank.
