The “idea” for this build has been in the works for 6 months or so. The new display tank is 6”deeper thank our prev. tank.
My DH who is the brawn/brain behind the operation works 12/12 out of town, and we are doing in-house renos too.

So, this is not a “fast” build by any means.

We purchased this tank from a fellow canreefer back in sept/oct. Currently our tank is a 135 recessed into a “buffet/hutch nook” in our dinning room, the sump is located under it and the auto top off water holding tanks are in the garage (plumbing runs in our crawls space for it). The chiller was in our crawl space too.

Our new plan was going to enclose our dinning room (who really needs one LOL) and make it a fish room. The new wall will house the 180. We purchased a new tank and have made it into a sump/refuge. The old water holding tanks will be ro water & sick tanks. We purchased a new “horse water tank” and are using that for the salt water mix.

Last December DH built a support system in the crawl space for the bigger tank & sump system. Then things pretty much came to a screeching halt while he framed in & finished our foyer and retiled floors. (always order more tiles then you need, so you dont have to wait for them to be brought in)

The new tank stand was built & the tank was place into position, & filled with RO water. DH plumbed the essentials. We have since added new sand/crush coral & more new live rock. Threw in some chromis’s (will those things never die).

Still lots to do, but we are waiting for his next shift to end.

(this was typed up a week or so ago) Oh and for the most part when I say we, I mean "him" LOL poor poor hubby.

The tank is up and running now. We have added all the livestock from the old tank. Still working on getting the ro water and sick plumbed into the fish room.

Purchased & modified a great winch system for the light canopy.

It is great have an enclosed room for all the gear. So quiet you can't hear any of the "noise" when viewing in the living room
