Hi,

I'm looking at getting some more flow in my tank as stuff keeps settling out on the sandbed, but I don't want to create a sandstorm. I did have a 350GPH powerhead that was stirring up some sand, but that was a much narrower stream - it's now running my skimmer. I was originally thinking of the koralia 1, but I heard that the flow was a lot broader and more gentle so I was thinking maybe a 2 would be the way to go.
I'm fish only with live rock at the moment, but this may change in the future. Any thoughts/opinions would be appreciated..

Rob.

For what it's worth I have a Koralia 1 in my 12 gallon, no sand storm but plenty of flow!

Vortech MP20....you can turn them down........a 1 or 2 should be ok.....depends how much you need/want to punch things up.

I have a Koralia 2 and a MaxiJet 1200 in my 33. The MJ blasts more even though the flow is rated as much less. I would opt for the Koralia 2 instead of the 1 if I were you.

I have a Koralia 1, and a MJ400 and MJ600 on a wavemaker in my 20 gallon with a bare bottom.

Thanks for the opinions, sounds like the 2 is the way to go, if that doesn't give me enough flow I'll just have to add another..

The Vortech MP20 looked very, very cool, however I think I could just about fill the tank with Koralias for the price! Maybe when I upgrade...

Ya, but if you got it now, you would have it for the upgrade:mrgreen::lol:

Personally I have a koralia 1 in my biocube 29...and i think it a lot more than enough? considering even my small LR on upper portion of the setting is shifting bak and force just from the blow of the 1...makes plenty of water movement throught out the whole tank except the back of the setting(cover by LR, so of course...)

the main reason i like the koralias is because the blast isnt as direct. its wide spread. i have a power sweep rated at half the koralia 2 and it just spews out water. the stream is more intense due to the small exit point on the powersweep.

I've got two Koralia 1s in my 15g. No sandstorm and everything is happy :)

Holy smokes... I used just a Koralia Nano in my 28g, and it, along with the return pump form the sump, are MORE than enough flow for my tank. :) Mind you, my sump is supposedly putting out about 1000g per hour. :)

I had 3 koralia nanos and a 290G return in my 3' long 12G, now I got 2 6025s plus the same return. Obviously no sand, my sps and sixline love it.
