I have an AC Jr. and so far its performed well for me. Not as many bells and whistles as some of the other units though.

Programming the unit is pretty straight forward as the language is pretty basic. The instructions for wiring an external input into the unit could be better though.

I like my AC Jr. It also recently survived a tank leak.

I've got an AC III and really enjoy it. I did some reading around for two weeks back in October to decide which controller would work best for me. I considered the Profilux, ReefKeeper, Aquatronica and Aquacontroller. I eventually decided on the Neptune AC III because of its popularity, price and two pH probe ports built into the stock unit.

Neptune is coming out with Apex line this month, that will beat all the other controllers hands down.

According to Neptune basic combo will go for $500 US.
That's for the main unit, remote display and energy bar and maybe few probes.
Preorders start this month.

Finally they separated the 'display' screen from the rest of the unit. I always wished the stupid probes and cords were not hanging off the bottom of the Aquacontrollers. I have wanted to mount mine viewable from the front of the stand a few times but its so ugly. This new one would look great though!

I have an AC Jr. I use it to control my lights, cooling fans and heater. I am happy with it. It maintains my temperature +/- 1 degree F. It will turn off my MH if the fans fail. It has more features than I need but gives me peace of mind that I won't cook my tank. If I could find an inexpensive used ACIII i'd buy it since it would talk to my iPhone (but that because I'm kind of geeky at times )
