So yesterday i finished tank assembly it was quick aneat and simple, very impressed on design of tank componrnts and assembly. i added 40lbs of live sand, my 65-70lbs of live rock been cooking all week in rubbermaid container.
my parameters are salinity 1.027, pH 8.2, Amonia 1, Nitrate 0, Nitrite 0, Alk norm, Phosphate 0. And so it begins, time to wait for the cycle!

Nice ripple on the surface! Do you think the stock pump is any good? Most AIO the first thing that gets upgraded are the pumps.

Please borrow a camera, cell phone shots are not doing this beauty any justice!

Ocean City cheapest in city $2000, they also give u a $100 store credit on anything aswell. Other retailers saying their under $2000 without stand, or over $2100 with live rock only credit.

Moved the live rock around to look appealing, live sand dust clouds were everywhere! Well my amonia is 0 from 2-4 few days ago? nitrie and nitrate still zero, pH8.2, alk norm. Anyone have any suggestions to star my cycle?

drop in a cube of frozen food. That'll get things going in a hurry

I have told many people on here to use the Hagen cycle on the tank for start ups I have had great sucess with it if you are using your tank i would go with the 500 ml bottle and put the whole thing in, trust me it works great ask Lance about it..... I have been using it for many years and have never had a issue with it.

I noticed in my tank this morning a dead red crab beside my other red hermit crab! didnt know i had a second one in my tank, must have been living in the live rock possibly(didnt know he was in the tank). i will leave his corspe in tank to help with the cycle.

Looking good Quincy! Congrats on your first fish. Don't worry the clowns are just kinda freaked with the new territory, it will take them a couple of weeks before they settle down and look comfortable.

Just Wondering how your temps are doing ? I have a RSM 130 and I would like to upgrade to the 250 my concern though is I have read some reefers are have temperture issues? I run my 130 between 78-80 how is the 250 for you?

temp has been fine for me so far, range 77-80. the hod has a fan for the lights on both ends and also double fan for top of water.

Well that sounds good as I don't think buying a chiller is what one would want to do right away. Is the skimmer working good? That has been the downside of the RSM's, I am guessing it should be better than the 130 being adjustable?
Thank you for the info :)
