Is it on the shell of the clam or on the mantle (fleshy area). I am assuming on the shell.
If you have a razer blade, gently scrape it of the shell, one at a time. Don't burst the bubbles.

Yes its on the shell. I am assuming that if I scrape too hard it will hurt the clam? Thanks for the advise.
wouldn't worry about the clam, the bubbles will come off easily

the shell is there to protect the clam. so i would guess if you scrape them off the shell it should be fine.

I think they suggest "Gentle" so you don't burst the bubble releasing many spores into the water which will call more algae. The shell is tough.

Well....when I moved my clam from my old tank into the new, I didn't want to chance any unplanned hitchikers so I removed the clam from the tank water and scrubbed the outer shell with a plastic toothbrush to clean out any critter that might be hiding in a crevice. It didn't seem to bother that clam a bit as it was fine for 2 years after that treatment.
