I would like to do a livestock order for a cleanup crew and probably some corals from Tim @ seacare sometime soon. I was thinking this week or next week would be good...as for shipping it is $60 for 10-12 corals depending on size, as to how clean up crew's would factor in who knows....anyways let me know if you want in. I am getting prices and pics on corals + criters from Tim so I can post them when i get em.

I would like a few conchs (two fighting, one queen), as well as one large cowrie if he has them in stock.

he told me he does have the fighting conches + money cowries in stock.

Quinn

What would I owe for two fighting conches then? Does he have any of the large cowries (3"). From what I can tell/based on empty shells I have around, money cowries are rather small (1").

I am in for 2 or 3 Fighting Conches

IF he has them, could you include me for 5 Astrea snails (and can I catch up with you for those when they come in)?

$2 each if much better than 5.
Cheers,

Here are some prices Tim gave me, he is going to send me some pics of the corals he has later today:

Fighting Conch - 14.95

Tiger Tail Cuke - 14.95

Nassarius Snail - 1.59

Cerith Snail - 3.49 3/4" to 1" long shell

Astrea Snail - 1.59 lot discount is 1% off per 10 snails starting at 50 snails ie 50 snails you get 5% off

He didn't mention the prices on these 2 I'll ask him again.

Margarita Snail
money cowrie

got an email back.

money cowries are 4.95 each....He is willing to price match JL but, for the items he is cheaper on he'll have to price match up (seems fair enough to me)...He also said the cerith that he has are of the bigger variety (he included a pic, I'll throw it up when i get home). I am tentatively aiming to place the order Monday, so if you want in that's when i will be ordering.

EDIT: oh yah he only has 1 marg and 1 nerite left too both XL 3.49

Quinn

Wouldn't price matching up and down like that be considered a form of cartelization?

Not that I'm overly concerned. He's got to live as well right.

I'd like to pay via check (I don't have a credit card). Should I work it out with him, or should I pay you and you can place the whole order?

spikehs

either ways fine - if the check bounces I'll hire some thugs to go smash your tank  lol J/K

Could you also check on a Queen Conch ? ... in for one fighting Conch for sure but reading that a QC might be usefull as well

06-26-2003, 01:30 AM
yup thats not a prob....Although you might be better off with a few fighting conches as queen conches get HUGE...like 10+ inches.

Quinn
06-26-2003, 01:55 AM
I thought we'd checked on the queens, but if we didn't, and he has them, I will for sure want one. I realize they get huge, but I figure that something like that has to be a veritable machine when it comes to eating algae. Thirty turbo* snails just aren't fast enough, although they are doing a good job.

*They were sold to me as turbos, but there are a very variations of shells, foot colours, etc., I don't think they're all turbos.

spikehs
06-26-2003, 01:59 AM
from what i have heard queens spend *most* (not all) of the time on the sand....tho i could be wrong.

Quinn
06-26-2003, 03:50 AM
I believe it's the other way around. Fighting on the sand, queens on the rocks and glass.

i am going camping today (sat) and will be back on monday, i'll place the order then. I will try to get it delivered for the soonest day, if its tues I'll be avail all day. But if its any other time during the week it'll have to be around dinner time as i dont get finished work untill 4:30ish. If you could post exactly what you wan't i'll put it on the old visa then u can write me a check. sound good?

OK guys placed the order, although he wont sent it off for a bit as i have to wait for the payments on my cc to go through (should only be a couple of days). So if you want to add/remove anything let me know.

Alan - 5 astreasa

Steve - 1 fighting conch - they didn't have queen's in, not sure if you want to add anything else

Quinn - nothing yet...let me know what you want.

If it's not too late for an 11th-hour addition, add a fighting conch for me too. If it IS too late, then, no worries. I just grow weary of waiting for the one in my 72g to show up, haven't seen him/her/it(???) since April. Maybe some friendly competition will draw him out..

If I can just square up with you, cool... but if not please call me and I'll call Tim and square up. Whatever is easiest at this point, I'm sorry to complicate things as it is.

teevee,

My queen conch is about 3" and it never goes on the rocks or glass, sandbed only.

You guys like our B.C. prices, eh?

spikehs

Tony,

It shouldn't be a problem, i think i'll have ~$400 to put on the cc...I am going to talk to tim and see what the total is in the next day or so.

spikehs
07-03-2003, 06:16 PM
OK, got an update from Tim, here is what I have so far (correct me if i am wrong)

Alan - 5 astreasa
Steve - 2 fighting conch
Tony - 1 fighting conch
Quin - 1 fighting conch, 1 atlantic blue tang
Me - 1 tigertail cuke, 1 fighitng conch 1 frag, and lots of snails.

He also told me he just got an order in from the marshal islands of "wild" frags (the collector goes out and breaks a small branch off the mother colony every once in a while). The colors are supposed to be really good too, they are $54 for a 3-4inch colony with mulitple branches. So if anyone is interested in that go for it! We no longer have a box charge because we are over $200 (or something like that), shipping will still be $60 for the whole box. So shipping should be ~25cents/$ spent (I'll figure it out when i get the total bill) As for a shipping date, I don't really mind myself - Quinn said he would prefer saturday so how does sat. afternoon sound?

Quinn

Confirming that Saturday is best for me, as I will already be in Calgary. Not ready for corals yet though.

I won't be in town this weekend, so if someone could house my conch in their tank until Monday then that would be appreciated.

You are buying an Atlantic Blue Tang, but your tank isn't ready for corals?
Can you elaborate?

Quinn
07-04-2003, 01:22 PM
Too much algae still, tank is too new, so on and so forth. I want to get that under control before I start buying any corals.

Here is the update.

The flight is comming in ~6:15pm today, Tim said it usually takes anywhere between 30mins - 1hr for them to unload it....so I should (hopefully) be home ~7:30pm... I am a little pressed for time this evening (friend's bday party at the bar)...So if I could meet you guys at my house when it gets here that would be great - although the 'rents will be here if i have to leave. Should be a tight squeeze with the acclimation and everthing but it should work out. I'll give a call when i am on my way home from the airport.

- Alan, I am keeping hold of yours for a bit right?
- Tony are you picking up tonight or do you want me to hold on to them?
- Quinn and Steve you guys are still ok for picking them up right?

Buccaneer
07-05-2003, 06:35 PM
No problemo Sean ... just give me a call and I will meet you at the house

Cheers

Oie Alan, something came up so I headed home after getting my fish, just as well as he looked a little stressed out in the bag. He's looking much better in my tank now, even without the lights off I can see that he is darkening up and the white stripes on his sides are diminished, I am assuming that is because he is less stressed.

Tony are you picking up tonight or do you want me to hold on to them?

I don't (well, hardly ever) check the boards on weekends .... I assume you've taken it out of the bag by now? If you have time tonight maybe we can hook up. It would be better if we could confirm a time by email or phone because I only play on the board when I'm at work (and I don't turn my home computer on unless I absolutely, absolutely can't avoid it ... it's just an intolerable piece of junk).
