Can't find GE 1200 anywhere. The GE I and II says on the back, "not suitable for food contact surfaces and/or not for aquariums". Rona has their name brand that is suitable, but is it as good as the 1200?
Thanks

It isn't as strong as 1200, but it is strong enough for most size tanks.

The standard silicone (eg. GE I) that you get at the hardware stores is fine for most applications. GE SCS1200 is what manufacturers use for their tanks if you want the strongest stuff. The whole "don't use for aquariums" is just legal butt coverage. Any 100% silicone is fine as long as it doesn't have any anti-mildew agents (usu. found in "Bathroom" versions).

I got my GE 1200 at GE Polymershapes off United Blvd in PoCo. They don't normally do retail sales so you might get some funny looks there. They actually gave me a tube for free since it was nearing its best before date.

You can buy it at Valley Feed Bag in Mission on the Lougheed Hwy. I just bought some there last weekend:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:
