View Full Version : Aragocrete
Hello,
Anybody in Edmonton have supplies to make aragocrete? I'm looking at just making one custom piece and don't want to buy all the supplies and have it just sit around. Thanks so much.

What is aragocrete? if you dont mind me asking.

It's basically homemade rock that some people use to substitute live rock. It's cheaper and more friendly to the reefs because there is less harvesting of rock from the ocean. Try googling it.

i'll give you the cement if you want... it;s taking up space by my front porch as I have decided that I have made enough pieces for my new tank... PM if you're interested.
Also, I have some play sad, but it does have silica in it. It's up to you... I say it won't dissolve => cause algae blooms, but some would burn me at the stake for saying that...

Did you use white cement to do your rocks?

nope, porltand cement based concrete ina bag. 5 bucks a bag or so from home depot... it came with some agregate in it, which was annoying... but oh well... I don't plan on having too many rocks in there anyhow... there is NO substitute to a good piece of live rock. even a cured piece with no diveristy of life on it... or a seeded dead base rock (fossilised reef, tufa, etc).
