This is after the last dump, and more is on its way right now... I can see the flakes just starting to drop form time to time. Calgary got 17cm, Springbank got 33cm and Bragg Creek got more then 40cm. We live in a snowbelt and I didn't think about when we moved out here. When I was visiting with some canreef friends over the weekend, I could see their grass before this last dump... I won't see mine until mid may or longer...

I should go borrow the neighbors Bobcat but don't feel comfortable borrowing things, plus I have never used one before... prob smash it into the side of the house or something. We went quadding in Burnt timber last year... was it Water Valley that had the two liquor stores, a bottle depot and small grocery store? It was whimsical to say the least. Gragg has two liquor stores and two bars too... we tend to embrace alchoalisum during the winter months.

I have to say that you would have to take me out of Bragg in a body bag. Even in a$$ deep snow it is still quiet and beautiful. We were looking at houses in Kelowna just before we bought here in Bragg. It was depressing there and we decided not to even consider it. Plus my mother in law would be too close.

When we go through your neck of the woods this summer, I would love for you to take us on an LFS tour. Summer... it lasts all of six weeks from snow melting to snow again. We had snow on the ground last AUgust for two days...

Yep, two liquor stores and the Saloon. All within stumbling distance of our 4 way stop.

No horses, but the neighbours horses and cows sometimes find their way onto our place. We have 160 acres and lots of old fencing. (one of the duties this year is repair of said fencing)

Hahaa the deer are like big rats out here too... I send the dogs out to chase them off. We have had a bear on the property all winter (not hibernating), and cougars tracks at the back of the property. Dogs treed one last spring. I almost soiled myself. I have tons of pictures of deer in front of the house, usually a doe with her twin fawns.

If you want to borrow a rottie to herd the cows I would love to let her. Her bloodlines are all from a breeder in Olds that runs a feed lot and the dogs work the cattle.

You have a beautiful home and a wonderful out building... I can't imagine all the toys you can stuff into it. I am jealous. We did some work out in Water Valley and my hubby said we should look at land out there... he loved it.

Dont think the Brandon area will get flooding like those guys. We have had some melt flooding before this 3 day snow event which got some basements and the such. Winnipeg would normally get it after ND but with the Red River flood way expansion, they are much better prepared than in 97.

Looks terrible in ND. Seems they have Fargo on evac alert.

HAHA that is TOO funny!

The chev got stuck then the ford got stuck then got the chev unstuck when the dodge showed up now the dodge is stuck in the tracter rut that eventually pulled out the ford!

 That's the song I was thinking of too

I LOVE your dogs, need to get your breeder's name. Heck, we got more snow in Elk Valley then anywhere else. The second tow truck got stuck before he got here and then both trucks were getting stuck and had to winch each other out...

Oh yes, we sure did... Just got back from a walk in the woods and the whole family (dogs included) are exhausted from plowing through a foot and a half of snow. *sigh*

Expensive day... to end up going nowhere. Neighbor is back home, tow trucks are gone, and the Ford is in front of the garage. Got nothing done, and the driveway is a disaster of epic proportions. I dunno about you guys, but I am really pooped now...

Oh yeah some guys had their sleds out and I wanted to clothesline them and steal them. They were having way too much fun...

That's cool, we tried to find a rescue Dobe back when we were looking for our girl, but didn't have any luck finding one at the time.
Our boy is from Liberty Dobermans just west of Calgary, and the girl is from Kaiser Dobermans in Big Valley.

My Rottie is the second from Wacther Engel rottweiler out of Olds. Diva was my first and was the best dog I have ever had. I lost her to Lymphoma in 2007. Cyren is now two and is Diva's niece. Cyren was $900 and is from dogs that work for a living in a feed lot. Diva and Cyren were/are high drive dogs and are meant to be busy. Angie her breeder takes care of her lines and my dogs from her have been a joy. Too bad about the cancer, but all my rotties have died form it and aside of Cyren and Diva were totally unrelated, two were rescues, and the other two were BYB dogs but I didn't know better then. Next rottie will be a rescue again to tribute the two I have lost.

Fergus is an English Staffordshire bull terrier from Cyberstaff kennels in Ontario. He was $1500. His breeder is a dream come true and I am on a waiting list for a puppy from Fergie's sister. She got me on facebook and I can hardly keep up with her demand for updates and pictures. I love this woman she is awesome. He is by far the healthiest and funniest dog I have ever had the pleasure to own in my life. I am a rottie person but this little guy rocks. I bought him after our rescued pittie passed away in 2007. My husband never wanted another dog again but now he and Fergie are the kings of couch at home. Fergie's momnis due to have puppies any day and Sarah wants me to take one. I do home checks for potential owners in the area to make sure her pups are going to a good home. She does not breed very much and has a pretty long waiting list.

I checked your breeder's site and she has beautiful dogs. I would love a dobie in the future but think with a new rescue rottie in the near future and a staffie coming in over a year, I will have a house full.

Dogs like that have to have a sweaters or they would freeze. My stafford refuses to wear one, since he feels he looks... gay. He will scrape himself on tree trunks and under brush to rip his sweaters off. I think clothes for dogs that are not functional are bad, but if they need it they need it.
