slick! i'm been wondering about a new front page for a while. one comment - can we get it in one consitent font, preferably verdana? i have a think against times new roman on websites, and since the rest of the board is verdana, it seems fitting.

I think that while most of us log in to the /phpBB2 page - the forums page - quinn checks in at canreef.com and sees the 10 newest posts, etc.

there is a new design in place there - pretty "slick" - so he would like continuity in the font family. it's a designer thing...

alan you hit it right on the nose. i like the ten most recent posts thing a lot (15 most recent would be nice as well), font continuity is good, and times new roman just wasn't designed for web use (serifs and all, but you know that).

The "forum" link is gone so there's no direct way to get there. The only way now is to either 1. login again or 2. click on one of the Top 10 posts. I don't want to do either. I just want to go directly to the forum via a link like I use to. Did I miss it somewhere?

I know I could just bookmark the URL

Quinn, the ten most recent posts were often way behind anyway. I prefer using the "show new messages since the last time you visited" (something like that  )

I just noticed that.

Em, I have noticed that sometimes I'll miss a thread because the top 10 can move so fast at times. Hence why it would be nice to have 15 or 20 there, although that would make the page awfully crowded.

Heck I usually just skip that page altogether. I have the Index page bookmarked on my computer. I didn't even know the main page had changed until someone pointed it out

I have to log in every time now. That's been like fourteen times in the past ten minutes... Isn't anyone else having this problem?

Nope, I guess I have a cookie as I select the "log in automatically" option.

I was trying to keep auto logged through the new front page, and it doesn't work. I logged in through the index and now it's fine.

It never occurred to me to go straight to the index. But now I certainly will.

Ya, I have to constantly login. Doesn't auto log in anymore even when you check it etc..

I can autologin fine by going directly to the forums and bypassing the main page.

What's the use of having a main page that everyone has to bypass

Well quite frankly I thought the main page sucked before. To me it was pretty useless. Not that I'll use it now. Its not very user friendly albeit it is nice looking. I'd rather just navigate on the index page where all the good stuff is
