I don't normally post in the Lounge, but this is quite funny.

Hey there, I am interested in taking all your live rock if the price is right. Please let me know what you would like for it. Cheers!

well all the rock is tonga rock and is covered in polyps and pulsing xenia. i have about 110lbs. what were you thinking for a price?

Hey... Do you have pictures? I don't want any polyps or xenia...I wondering how much of it is covered. It's your rock, you name the price. :)

I have pics online. after that, if you are serious. come see. I would probably want around $900 cash for this rock, considering that it has polyps and xenia on it, covered in coraline, no aiptasia, and that it is all tonga, plus no taxes. This is an amazing deal.

You want almost $9/lb? Sorry, but that is not an amazing deal at all. Many people would find rock covered in polyps and xenia a detriment as I do. Thanks for your time. :)

okay, well have fun searching, and when you are done call me, cause you obviously know NOTHING about salt water aquaria. like the majority of people in kelowna. stupid. seriously, thankyou for a good laugh tonight. haha

Yeah but keep in mind this live rock is at least TWICE as alive as your standard live rock =) Hence the price.

Well said, but even then I personally wouldn't even take it. This guy must be one of those experts I keep hearing about.

Well, if they pay you 9/lb, you can then turn around and sell it for another 4/lb to someone that likes xenia! :)

Their name really isn't important, is it?

It was rhetorical

I've had the same problem as Myka lately. We've both been trying to buy rock, or full setups for the rock..

Seem the other trouble is people with ~40lbs of rock, seem to think it's actually 100. I dunno about you, but it would sure be hard to fit 100 pounds of rock in a 33 gallon.. Wonder which LFS @ $13/pound...

I paid 18/pound for my first batch of live rock, although it was covered in a lot more life than you'd ever see these days. and this was 15 years ago! sure glad the price has come down! :)
