Heater capacity

Got a 360 gallon tank to heat. What wattage should I be looking at? Also, I've heard that with this size of tank I'd need a titanium heater instead of glass. Is this true and what are the advantages / disadvantages?

I think I used a 250w on 100 gal with no problems. I would recommend multiple heaters (not that you have a choice) just in case one stops working. Titanium heaters are more durable but are also way more expensive. You could also look at an in-line heater depending on what your set up is.

The general rule of thumb is about 4W to 5W/gallon for most rooms.

Titanium heaters work the same as glass ones. They're simply less likely to be damaged because they're not made out of glass. Plus it's cool to say that you've got a TITANTIUM piece of equipment.

They are still subject to sticking like glass heaters so a good quality external controller is the safest bet if you will be keeping very valuable livestock.

hey I run 3 250ws on my 235ish sys I should probably get one more but spring is coming

I only use 2 300w on my 300gal but then it is in a small enclosed room that maintains the temp quite well. I am using a Medusa temp controller and I rarely see the heaters on. Temp runs a pretty consistent 77.8deg.
