I just started using this test kit for my calcium. In the instructions, it gives directions for both an 'approximate' and an 'accurate' test procedure. The difference being one is within 50 mg and the other 10 MG accuracy. It says you can use the 'approximate' one to save on use, but to do the accurate one, you have to do the first one regardless in order to get it more accurate. My questions is this, for those that use this test, how often do you test, and do you always do both, or just the approximate one?

I use this kit, and i usually only test the appox, as i have figured out that with my tank, i can take the approx, and subtract 20 - 30 from the results, and that gives me the same reading as doing the accurate test. i did them both 4 times (over a 4 week period) and my theory worked out well for me.

So now i just do the appox, and if it reads 480 - 500, im ok.

hope that helps a little :)

thanks, I'll re-check my results from yesterday and see if mine are about the same.
