lighting questions

ummm i still havent gotten the money to replace my 175 10000k bulb
and my friend said he would let me use his 400 watt 6500k MH but i am wondering if it would be to much light where it is (2 feet above the tank) or raise theif i raised it up 5 feet?
i have a shade and a popcorn christmas tin for shades :razz:

what do have over the tank now?

not sure how much light you'll get at 2 feet up with a 400W... isn't that over a 20 gallon? footprint is 12 x 24?

If you raised the light you sould be fine.....
