Anyone have any suggestions for glass tank builders in Vancouver? I had OA give me a quote a while ago, and it was pretty pricey for the size of tank I'm looking for (a fairly small), so I'm looking for other alternatives that people have used.

I don't trust building it myself, so please don't suggest that. DIY + Me ~= Wet Carpet

Thanks!

What brand were you quoted? Sea Star " I can't remember the new name" is in Victoria and they have allways been good with prices plus you are buying Canadian.

Don't think they are called SeaStar anymore, but they are still around. J&L is a distributor.

Someone sent me a PM and mentioned that SeaStar is now called H20 Aquariums. So at least if I get a quote from there I know where we're talking about.

The SeaStar Brand is now called H20 Aquariums. They are excellent tanks, often using thicker glass then competitors, have a 5 year warentty and have very high standards.

Hmm... I haven't heard anything back from J&L yet.

Any other builders that you guys are aware of, or nothing worth mentioning?

J&L is not the only distributor. Think almost all the aquarium shops in the Lower Mainland can order with H20.

I'll hit King Ed's one of these days, alright, thanks folks. Basically what I'm hearing is that I should just ask at the stores, I was assuming there was another way to do it that was more direct.

OA gets their custom tanks from H2O/Seastar as well (that's where I got my seastar). They're the only local outfit around that I'm aware of unless you want to special order something in from AB or ON.
