i think that would work on your tank Mark.

The only problem with that is it would probably skim all the fish out of the tank and you would need a fork lift to clean the collection cup. But other then that should work just fine.

Not at all, the tank will fit inside the skimmer, good choice. Regards Ken

Keep the tank in the skimmer? Just use the skimmer as the tank :P
