View Full Version : What Type Glass for DIY - PC fixture?

Should I be looking at a piece of plexiglass for the bottom of a 2x55W PC fixture that will be in a wood fixture? I've seen this done in one of the AH Supply examples, and it seemed pretty versatile - drillable etc.

I expect regular glass would be insufficient. Anyone done this?

TIA,

You DIYing ?

Don't buy that stuff at Rona/Revy....it warps instantly. I think they must use something different because the stuff on our Hamilton fixture sure doesn't do that.

We had the hood thing from AH and never used anything with the PC's.

Why the plexi-glass? If you are trying to increase your lighting levels I would not use the p-g.

I thought the idea was to keep splash off of the PC bulbs, hence the admonition (by the manufacturer) to only use these fixtures with a glass top?

Not sure why... perhaps they don't like splash like MH...
