Ok. Have an old 120 G that I am cleaning so I have a fresh start. Scrapped all the coraline off with a razor and washed to glass multiple times with vinegar, then Windex but there is still thin film that I cannot get off.
Has anybody had success cleaning an old tank and getting it as clean as new? How did you get the thin film off? Any ideas are appreciated.
Thanks, Tyler

you could find either at canadian tire or swimming pool cleaning supplier.

Great. I'll give it a try and then rinse the glass to remove any "acidic" residue.

So picked up the muriatic acid and gave it a try. I applied it with a sponge and then wipped it off with a paper towel withour letting the acid dry.
NO LUCK.
Should I let the acid dry? Any application tips would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tyler

How is the muriatic acid on the silicone seams?? Do you have to reseal the tank if you do that? Or is it inert on the silicone?

I'd let the stuff soak for a little while... don't wipe it off right away.
