View Full Version : WTB: 175w Electronic Ballast + LumenMax 2 + Tunze Osmolator ATO
As the title says. I added that I'm looking for a Tunze Osmolator Auto Top Off as well.
Will buy together or separate. Will pay shipping. Or possibly can pick up in Okanagan of BC, or anywhere between Edmonton and Saskatoon. I travel too much.
Will keep looking for the next month or so, then will gve up and order new.

Hey Myka, just because I'm curious, why are you so set on an SE setup? I personally think the DE's do a better job.
SE have less hot spots than DE; more even intensity, SE reflectors are better than DE, and SE cover a larger area than DE (I'm putting it over my 36" 40g tank). I also have the option of over-driving the bulb with an HQI ballast if I choose to later on.
And the search continues...

Hey, is this the "cube" that I picked up for you or the breeder that you already had running?

For the 40g breeder. I have to figure out what I'm doing long-term before I set up that cube, but I think I'm going to put African Cichlids in that tank. Oh so boring to a salt fanatic, I know! ;)

Agreed...soooo boring
I think that if you wanted to keep costs down, you could do a very nice softie tank, with Ecorox, bare-bottom, a fishneedit.com light and a bubble magus HOB skimmer. Put fish in as you see fit.
I'd be surprised if you spent much less on a Cichlid tank. Especially with all the locals having softies to frag from.
It's just an idea though.

I don't like softies (shh!!!). All I need to make a cichlid tank is a (cheap compared to sw) light fixture, and the fish, oh and some sand. I have an Eheim 2026 (if I remember correctly) sitting in my closet collecting dust. In fact, I could probably rig up a light too. I want to put a few hardy, low light plants in the tank too.

what about DL 88 has those 2 400 w pendants if you are looking you have probably seen them right,..
Ya I did see them, thanks though. :) I think they would create much of a spotlight on my 36" tank, and I don't want to deal with the heat issues of 400w.

Well if you are interested in a MH Canopy I have a 2x175W MH SE, 2x55W PC Canopy. It has a ballast the runs all 4 bulbs. Going for 250. Let me know if you are interested.
Thanks, but I see your canopy is 48", and my tank is only 36" otherwise you may have had a deal. ;)
Edited...again. Starting to think about setting up my 75g cube again...hmmm.

Yes, but I have to finish the stand and canopy, and I am ever so lazy. I should have bought the Vertex 100 instead of the 80...oops.

You know I want you to...haha. that thing is screaming REEF. Stop being picky on the SE lights  and just use some of what you have and one of these good DE deals and put a rocking tank together.
When you come back...it seems to me that you might have a little time on your hands. How better to use it!!

I have a 250W HQI pendant about a year old and a new (still in box) Giesemann Megachrome Marine 12,500 K bulb I'll be selling soon and will be in Kelowna in 3 weeks but it's dual end.
It was the one over my clam tank that I'm shutting down

Shoot me a PM with your asking price. Also, have you run it on a timer? I have heard that some of the Giesemann fixtures have issues turning on when they are on a timer.

What!!! Why would you leave the sunny Okanagan? You can't have decided that your stay in Northern Alberta has changed you to a prairie girl.
If you do go, we will miss you around here. When is "soon"?
...but I'm moving to Saskatoon soon too.
from Kelowna, I'd be rethinking that idea
Hahaha...I met a guy out yonder prairies, and Saskatoon is a nice city. Apparently it has been number one in Canada for crime per capita for the last 9 years, but hey who cares right? They have a great SW store!!! ;) Lots of job prospects for highe wages, and the cost of living is much lower. I think it's a better place to live at my age where saving is a good plan. Oh, and Mark, soon as in probably a couple months or less. Gonna go to Belize for a month in a couple weeks...at least I think I have decided on Belize. Supposed to be great snorkeling on the reefs there.

I see a duel 400w MH in Hardware forum that has your name all over it Myka :)
400w is way too much for my LPS! Thanks for keeping an eye out though! :D
Last ditch effort...come on you guys give up your lighting.
I will be buying this light setup new in the next week or so if I don't find something used. Bah, I despise buying equipment new.
Also looking for Tunze Osmolator Auto Top Off. =]
