Its kind of cool mine makes a huge mess all over the tank though he moves a lot of sand everywhere. Not sure this would make much of a difference.

well in that project they used .75" PVC, but i would try 1" or 1.25"
if i do try this i think i might try it out at the shop (elite aquatics) first.
once i get permission that is.
who knows, maybe it would help to settle in our jawfish when we get them
the only down side i see to this is you wouldn't really get a chance to watch the jawfish do what they do best..dig with there mouths!

Thats a pretty good idea i also got a bluespot jawfish from a lfs and built him a little structure with rubble after a day of settling in he found it and customized it to say the least lol the coolest thing i noticed is if hes getting bugged by another fish or at night sometimes he'll close his little cavern with nearby hermit shells or rubble

4 x street 90s slip x slip
1 x tee
1 x short piece of pipe
1/8" drill bit
no glue required
then make your own disguise, fun project :)
I had always been interested in getting a blue spot .. need bigger tank, but that's coming soon hopefully :)
Nice pics and info about bluespot jawfish: http://www.reefsanctuary.com/forums/bluespot-club/16244-bluespot-club.html

i didn't take a picture of the original set up i did for him but i had rubble kind of set up in a little cave for him to go into but here are a few shots of what he did over the first week
http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww67/jtaylor420/IMG_0612.jpg
he had dug out a second entrance at this point
http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww67/jtaylor420/IMG_0638.jpg
back to one entrance but now he goes out at night and is piling up sand where he likes to hang out
http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww67/jtaylor420/IMG_0646.jpg
this last shot is the most recent and as you can tell he has grabbed a nearby piece of rubble that had some zoa's on it and that is his new front door lol

Personally i find it hard to think that it will accept this home. you need to pick a good spot where food will float by so it doesnt need to venture to far from home. my pearly changed homes more then once over the year i had it. eventually it went back to number one.
