My used Nano 28g tank is missing the skimmer, any suggestion for replacement? Also on a budget.

I like the AquaC remoras. There are a few for sale on this site.

I've been wondering about a BMQQ (http://www.nuocean.com/skimmers/bubble-magus-bmqq.html) for a small QT.

Tunze DOC Nano 9002 ....

No sound at all..only sound of bubbles.... skim half a cup out of my tank per week... minimal adjusting on the knob..and started to skim the very same night i put it into the tank.

I upgraded from a Aqua C Remora rated for 75 gallons... I must say this thing is so loud its not even funny... i can hear it from upstairs when the tank was in the living room... the skimming was so-so but for that price....i expected more....

So the Tunze for 200 buxs including tax.... was the best money i ever spent on my tank...

I have a BMQQ...it's not in my nano yet as I needed to make changes to my sump to accomodate it but as a second skimmer in my main display it's been pulling awesome amounts of skimmate. One thing to note is that it requires a fairly deep spot to sit as the MJ1200 is mounted about 10-12 inches up from the bottom. That's why I have to make changes as my sump only has 8 inches of water currently.

For $69 including the MJ, I've been impressed.

I've got a Sapphire Aquatics BC29R in my 29gal Biocube which has been running for about 3 weeks. I'm not sure if it will fit in your nano, but I know they have different custom skimmers for different tanks. I get about half a cup of cloudy tea-coloured skim a week, but my bio load is light. Its not loud either.

FYI- Canada Customs totally raped my shipment! You should've seen the box. Even the Postal guy was like "damn". Broke a piece but nothing crazy glue couldn't fix.... And then they charged me $5 for the inspection....

Hey there MCC, Did you have to make any adjustments to the tank or the top to get the Tunze Nano 9002 to fit in the back of your tank?

You can buy sapphire aquatics products in Canada, ottawainverts.com sells them.

A used CPR Bak Pak skimmer could work well enough for a nano tank also.

The tunze 9002 for RSM has been terrific. I truly recommend it. It was $178 plus tax. Go to Gold Aquarium, you might get a better price than above.

Hey Grant, yeah, I'm still very happy with this skimmer based on what I expected of it. Build quality is excellent and the foam is really pretty good.

Just picked up a Rio Nano Skimmer and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone... I'm not very happy with it at all. The instructions are terrible and the loud buzzing is enough to give you a migraine. The noise was so bad I had to unplug it.

The Rio Nano Skimmer is going into the trash and I'm off to try and find a Tunze Nano 9002 today! Hoping Gold Aquarium will have them in stock.

Euro-reef nano skimmer. Ocean Aquatics is carrying these.

Oscar, did you get this skimmer? How did it fit?

I have had the Euro-reef for about 10 days. Very tight fit but it works. And the thing generates a lot of bubbles with none entering the display tank. After 18 months I finally have a skimmer that works. Like most skimmers it is a bit finnicky, still working on the minor adjustments to get the optimum skimming.

Just picked up a brand new TUNZE Nano DOC Skimmer 9002 today and I LOOOOVVVE IT!!! Wow! it started making bubbles as soon as I plugged it in!!! No waiting! And best of all it's super quiet!!! Pretty much just the sound of bubbles! Paid $180 plus GST and worth every penny!

WARNING!!! If you're thinking about buying one be VERY, VERY CAREFUL when attaching the magnets!!! These things are super strong and will crack your tank if you slip! I'm serious! They have about 50-110 pounds of magnetic force and my fingers are purple after the installation! Don't kid around with them! If you don't have the strength get someone who's strong enough to install the unit for you!
