I have tried to quit but I can't, I miss it. Sold a big tank and now I would like to try something small. I am looking for a 12 or 14 gallon all in one Nano tank. I live in Calgary but am heading to Edmonton this weekend too, so that would work as well. I don't need a stand but it is OK if it has it. I would rather it be an empty tank, but will consider full tanks as well. I would like it to have a full hood.

Thanks,
Marcie

Full hoods mean PC or T5 lighting so you will be limited to softies and LPS. I run a fullhood Aquapod 12 with stock PC lights and I love it! If you haven't already check out the AIO forum at nano-reef.com.

Yes, we had PC lighting on our last tank and it was all I ever really needed. Our last tank was 92 gallons and it was too hard (physically) for me to change the water, just too heavy to lug that much water to and from across the house. We had a 10 gallon freshwater tank and the water changing was physically so easy.

I am really only looking for a 12 or 14 gallon all in one, not one bigger. How much should I expect to pay for a second hand one with no stand?
Thanks everyone,
Marcie

I can only say I paid $400 in August 2008 for my 2nd hand AP12 with stand. It came with everything, Hydo-nano, upgraded return pump, test kits, LR, sand, couple of corals. I even hauled away the water. I Found it on craigslist.org before I knew of canreef.com classifieds. I have seen a couple of AIO for sale here on canreef.com that I thought were good deals.

How much would a tank be if it was stock (no upgrades) and empty with no stand? Any opinions would be welcome.
Thank you

Cant say price on the JBJ nano cubes.
But I have both a 14 and 29 oceanic.
the 14 was $200ish new - no stand
the 29 was $280ish new - no stand
Prices may have changed though both the tanks are a year old at least.

I think Ocean City and Pisces still have their nano's on sale.

Big Al's in the NE has a large selection of all-in-one tanks. In your size range too if I remember correctly. I think they're biocubes. Maybe a couple JBJ as well.

If you think you cannot grow sps under pc/t5, you haven't tried hard enough.

I have biocube 14 I LOVE IT..... and its all i need i have a 55 gal before and i agree too much work.. Id try gold's as your best bet. They'll match JL pricing also. It sucks i think the price on the tanks jumped because the CAD to USD sucks!
