i've heard if you change your bulbs to a different typ with a higher kelvin rating your supposed to acclimate your corals. and im going from giessmann 13000k to aquaconnect 14000k and they are a much different color. i was just wondering if i have to acclimate them or if it wont make that big of a difference to the corals. their 250w pendants btw.

Unless you have SPS , I wouldn't worry about it

I would think this swap would be fine, regardless of coral type. Unless the old bulbs are really old, you won't need to do anything. If they are really old, maybe reduce the photoperiod slightly for a few days to a week.

What if your going from 10000 to 20000 should I acclimate my sps corals.

thx guys ill just run arond 5 or 6 hours for a photo period for a bit instead

easiest way is to lower the photo period and then gradually increase the period back up to the original amount. As mentioned earlier in this post if the bulbs being replaced are really old then the photo period should be reduced even more to compensate for the new bulbs.
