I have tickets tonight for the Canucks game against the Oilers. Because of the severe snow storm combined with the winds, I can't go. Man am I ****ed off. This was the night they are Retiring Trevor Linden's Jersey. I wanted to be there so bad. If this was any other game it wouldn't be a big deal, but this only happens once in a lifetime. ARRRGH :twised:.

Well I just wanted to rant, so I am gonna go now.

Trust me I would go if it was just the snow, but with the wind you cant see a thing. I have to come all the way from chilliwack and it is a complete white out.

You guts from BC don't know snow. Try living in Northern Alberta or Manitoba for a while. 40 Below and 36" of snow is a good day.

Yeah, but your snow is dry. Ours is wet and very slippery. Plus, we don't know how to drive in it. 1" on the road = cars in the ditch.

After the Oilers game against the Blackhawks I'm pretty sure Vancouver's going to win. God what a disgrace that was!:bad-word:

Some of us BCers grew up out there. yes they don't know snow here but thats cuz they never get it, but the snow this time isn't normal for out here as we usaly don't get down to friggin -18 with the windchill :twised: it is alberta snow this time as I can lift a full shovel

and as a side treat we got freezing rain last nigh, boy did I have fun going to fill up some water jugs and get coffee.

I was suposed to go camping this weekend, to much snow infront of the trailer now to get it out

You also have to remember Calgary is relatively flat compared to Vancouver and the lower mainland. The main roads are not to bad if you behave your self the side streets and alleys are a differant story. We were sent home from work today as we spend most of our day trying to navigate the side roads and back alleys.

Sucks you had to miss the game.

I got stranded in Abbotsford that night, the highway was closed by the time I got off work, but going into work at 1pm was miserable, windy and poor visibility, saw a good 10+ cars and semis in various ditches and accidents.
