I need to find a 1-1/4 Bulkhead tomorrow morning. I have a big problem if I can't....So far I have noticed no aquarium stores carry them locally, anyone know of where I might find one?

Or if you have one for sale in Vancouver, please let me know.

Actually if you have one and I can come by tonight that would be even better...as long as you are in the Vancouver area.

I was plumbing the new tank and messed up the old bulkhead. Now my tank is about 1/2 empty and I can't fill it up until I get a new bulkhead :(

So its a bit of an emergency!

So...J&L and Ocean Aquatics sites both says they do not carry 1-1/4" bulkheads. Does anyone know if King Eds has plumbing supplies? I seem to remember Big Als having bulkheads...anyone know?

how are bulkheads measured? Is it the ID? or the size of the hole in the glass?

Depends on the bulkhead. For slip bulkheads, the ID will be 1-1/4" but for thread it will be 1" on the female side and 1-1/4 on the male side.

It should say right on the bulkhead though.

The hole in the glass will be a bit bigger than the bulkhead size.

I have one that is just shy of 1-3/8 slip for (inside of tank) and just slightly larger than
1-1/4 threaded on the part that goes outside of tank. The pipe that is threaded, that goes into that is OD 1-1/4
Live in Surrey though

Hmmmm....Sounds like a 1-1/4" Bulkhead then. I am confused by those dimensions though!

The slip side must be for 1-1/4 though don't you think? I mean there is no PVC that is 1-3/8. It is either 1.25 or 1.5".

Does the back (or threaded side) fit a 1-1/4" pipe inside?

Surrey might be fine...I don't have a choice.

EDIT: If I remember correctly, the dimensions are never exactly 1-1/4 so that would make sense. If the dimensions are that close to 1-1/4" it must be made for 1-1/4" pipe. I will PM you.

Thanks so much for responding!

I really get confused on pipe, never know if it is measured ID or OD
Anyway, the slip is 1-1/4 OD pipe and the threaded side would be for 1 inch ID pipe.
And it fits into a 1-3/4 inch hole in the aquarium glass
I pmd you

Well I think I may have found one. I am not sure yet though if its the right one. I would be surprised if I couldn't find one somewhere in Vancouver.

Thanks for the offer and I will let you know if this other one doesn't work out.

We are just trying to figure out if its got the right dimensions.
