A friend passed by Big Al's and saw cuttlefish eggs for sale... I know a few people here are looking for these little critters. Just a heads up to check them out.

Guess I know where I've got to drop by today. Might just have to get another tank going again. What was their lifespan again? I think I heard it was somewhere in the year or so range.

Depends on the species. I am heading down there in a bit once to look.

They sound like they are bandesis, per the description I could get out of the guy there.

Would anyone be willing to do me the huge favor of shipping some to Ontario?

I can return the favor and ship your corals / frags.

J&L has a pile of babies - they're still on live food though, but I think they'd be fine to ship...

All of them?

4 were sold and another few were supposed to be spoken for, they were just waiting on the customers to show up. So by what I saw there should have been a few eggs left.

I wish I had a cuttlefish appropriate tank set up right now.

I hear ya, cuttlefish seem like they would make a great addition, if I had the right tank to set up for them.

no way. for people that have been in the hobby, how often do they come up for sale.

Well I went by there yesterday after i posted this thread... and I bought a cluster of eggs. I left them there till i was ready to go home (working). When i picked them up they said they made a mistake the price was for EACH egg not the cluster. What are the chances of buying an egg and it will actually hatch and live? BTW the cluster I picked was had about 15+ eggs ... I cant justify buying one egg and having the chance of it not even hatching for $30.

Did anyone pick any eggs up? My brother, a friend and I passed by Big Al's again, they reduced the price of the eggs to $15 each, and $15 for each hatchling. We managed to pick up 3 eggs, and by the time we got them home, they hatched!!! So we now have 3 cuttlefish that we are now nursing in a nursing net, eating a little live baby brine shrimp. Mine has actually started changing colors, white, then bright pink now burgandy. Its a start of a new challenge, If anyone wants to pick one up they have a few eggs and a few hatchlings left.

Where did you get the live baby brine from??

bought the hatching kit @ Big Al's for $10. Hatched brine in about 15 hrs. Used a dropper to feed cuttle, you can see the little guy eat some up
