Just ran across this; decided it truly needed to be shared...

Hawaiian Name: Limu Līpu‘upu‘u, Kūkaeokamapua‘a

English Name:

Scientific Name: Valonia utricularis

Description: This seaweed is edible. It is green with short branches. The branches look like small green wet balloons. You can’t really tell but there are branches on this seaweed.

Interesting Fact: This seaweed is used as a medicine. When one is weak, this seaweed is pounded with sweet potato and steamed. It is eaten by the sick person.

 Think I could sell my valonia to the health food stores?

Got a bright shiney loonie for the first person to post video of them consuming some!

Well for a bright shiney loonie I may just have to find me some valonia to munch on. For a few more bight shiney loonies I could see a Valonia slurpy quenching my thirst. (I'll remember this remedy next time I'm weak-aka hung over-)
