Can I use my RO/DI water for waterchanges with my freshwater (FW) tank? I just setup a small FW tank for my two daughters. (Of course, they picked out the hot pink rock!) I was wondering if it is safe to use my RO/DI water for their tank? Its the pH etc O.K. for their fish? They don't have real delicate fish.
Thanks,
Shane

Just use tap water and a buffer. I only ever used r/o 50/50 when I try to soften the water and breed them. My discus are always in tap.

i just use tap with a ph buffer and safe powder to help dechlor and de nitrate. Barbs some delicate. as far as barbs go.
If you use RO water I think you have to use a productcalled "RO Right" that replaces some of the essential minerals the fish need. (In saltwater the salt mix does this) If you have really bad water it's not a bad idea to use RO & RO right, otherwise tap wayter with dechlorinator is usually fine for most fish. HTH :)
