A couple months ago I rented a cabin with the Mrs. near Tofino and went ocean kayaking I saw this monster on a beach... dont mind the commentary i was a little excited. It was about a foot long and thicker than a pen.

"eww that's gross" lol, im pretty sure the commentary was the best bit of the video

I think it's a orbit tail worm... yeah basically a big bristleworm. the orange tongue is a proboscis. basically a feeding tube.

i have seen those in tofino and pachina before, no idea what they are but definatly different,
they usually bury into the sand and only the tongue stick out when the tide is high they then are under the sand when the tide is low.
i used to dig them up when digging in the sand as a kid.

I believe it is an American Bloodworm, AKA Proboscus worm, AKA corrigated worm Glycera americana

Marine Life of the Pacific Northwest by Lamb and Hanby states:
"Upon capturing this colourful iridescent species a naturalist is generally startled as it rapidly everts a long, muscular, cylindrical proboscis with four fanglike jaws at the end".
