Hi:)

First of all hi my name is Leah and I have been into aquariums now for a few years. I have a 72 gal reef tank, I do weekly water changes. But I seem to get this green slime on top. I also have a new fish only 95 gal and guess what it has it to. Does anyone have any idea what it is? I use a aqua remora skimmer, I also have 4 powerheads lots of groovy motion, an Eheim pro 2 2028. And I use instant ocean salt.

How old is the setup?
How old are the lights?
What are your water parameters (temp, NH4, NO2, NO3, Alk).
Are you using RO water?
What type of substrate, how deep?

Have you done any phosphate tests?

I'd give some thought to your water. You don't say where you live, somewhere in the Okanagan? Depending on where, the water may be higher in nutrients.

I recall when doing some work at the Kelowna water treatment plant, that the discharge back into the lake was high on the Nitrate side. Check those as well.
